Reaching Out offers a supportive space for not only people who identify as
LGBTQ2+, but for their allies (supporters) as well, to connect, meet new people,
forge friendships, build community, socialize, have fun, and join in discussions on
topics of interest (including guest speakers and videos). The group first formed
after Brechin became an “affirming” ministry.
We meet at the church on the first Wednesday evening of each month at 7pm
(dates may vary according to room availability). Please join us for coffee/tea and
some tasty goodies. The group focuses on welcoming newcomers to Brechin and
providing outreach to others from the LGBTQ2+ community in the Nanaimo area.
If you are new to Brechin United Church or wonder if you’d like Reaching Out,
please consider joining us. Note that family members, friends and allies are all very
